Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Costume Design for the Lilac Fairy in La Belle au Bois Dormant by Léon Bakst for GBP 11,970.00 (€ 13,371.56). This price was achieved in the auction Russian Pictures at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon Bakst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Dancer In Costume in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 624,000.00 (€ 926,659.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Costume Design for the Lilac Fairy in La Belle au Bois Dormant von Léon Bakst für GBP 11.970,00 (€ 13.371,56) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Russian Pictures bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Léon Bakst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Dancer In Costume im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 624.000,00 (€ 926.659,53).
