The work An Elegant Lady in the Ballet Les Papillons by Léon Bakst was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 6,048.00 (€ 7,100.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon Bakst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Dancer In Costume in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 624,000.00 (€ 926,659.53).
