Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Washing by the river by Leo Eland was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 625.00. Admittedly, works by Leo Eland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Indonesian Villagers Passing A Batak House in March 2013 with an auction result of EUR 5,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Washing by the river von Leo Eland im September 2010 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 625,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leo Eland auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Indonesian Villagers Passing A Batak House im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.000,00.
