Upper estimate price exceeded by 56 %.
In November 2009 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Object by Joseph Cornell Object by Lee Miller. The »bidding war« ended at USD 62,500.00 (€ 41,683.34), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Miller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 504,000.00 (€ 418,952.62).
