In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Gold Stone, from Primary Series by Lee Krasner. The »bidding war« ended at USD 19,125.00 (€ 18,526.59), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Krasner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eye Is The First Circle in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 11,654,000.00 (€ 10,452,955.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gold Stone, from Primary Series von Lee Krasner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 19.125,00 (€ 18.526,59) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Krasner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Eye Is The First Circle im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.654.000,00 (€ 10.452.955,42).
