Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Larry Johnson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in September 2011. In the Under the Influence auction, the work Untitled (Betty Ford) sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,941.56) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Larry Johnson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Land Without Bread) sold at auction in March 2014 with the realized price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,404.66).
