Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work LS Ranch, Spanish Ranch and YP Ranch, c. 1983 by Kurt Markus for USD 720.00 (€ 567.51). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kurt Markus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ranch, Paisley, Oregon, 1981 in May last year with an auction result of USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,457.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit LS Ranch, Spanish Ranch and YP Ranch, c. 1983 von Kurt Markus für USD 720,00 (€ 567,51) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kurt Markus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ranch, Paisley, Oregon, 1981 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.457,93).
