Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2019 Bonhams in New York held the auction Stonewall@50 Photographs Online, which included the work Havana, Cuba by Kurt Markus. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,718.33). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kurt Markus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ranch, Paisley, Oregon, 1981, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,457.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2019 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Stonewall@50 Photographs Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Havana, Cuba von Kurt Markus zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.718,33) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Kurt Markus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ranch, Paisley, Oregon, 1981 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.457,93) versteigert wurde.
