Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kerry James Marshall achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. In the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction, the work Vignette 19 sold for USD 18,488,000.00 (€ 16,778,292.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kerry James Marshall; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Past Times sold at auction in May 2018 with the realized price of USD 21,114,500.00 (€ 18,092,973.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Kerry James Marshall erzielte im November 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
