Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Kenneth Snelson was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 188.22). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kenneth Snelson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maquette in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 38,648.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Kenneth Snelson im Juli 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 250,00 (€ 188,22) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Snelson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Maquette im Januar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 38.648,41).
