The work Twilight of the Idols 61 by Kendell Geers was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2017. It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,986.57), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. Admittedly, works by Kendell Geers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twilight of the Idols (Virgin Mary) in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 66,500.00 (€ 86,979.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Twilight of the Idols 61 von Kendell Geers kam im März 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.986,57) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kendell Geers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Twilight of the Idols (Virgin Mary) im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 66.500,00 (€ 86.979,39).
