Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kendell Geers achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May 2017. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Cardiac Arrest VIX sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,462.44) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kendell Geers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twilight of the Idols (Virgin Mary) in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 66,500.00 (€ 86,979.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kendell Geers erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Cardiac Arrest VIX für USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.462,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kendell Geers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Twilight of the Idols (Virgin Mary) im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 66.500,00 (€ 86.979,39).
