Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La conquista del espacio a los ojos de la historia (The Conquest of Space in the Eyes of History) by Kcho was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,688.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kcho achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La columna infinita II in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 73,000.00 (€ 49,700.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La conquista del espacio a los ojos de la historia (The Conquest of Space in the Eyes of History) von Kcho im September 2018 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.688,87) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kcho erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La columna infinita II im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 73.000,00 (€ 49.700,44).
