Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Meeting by Katy Moran was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,924.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katy Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 62,557.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Meeting von Katy Moran im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.924,27) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katy Moran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 62.557,75).
