Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Katsukawa Shunko achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2005. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Sawamura Sojuro III Ichikawa Danjuro V as Kazusa no Akushichibyoe Kagekiyo sold for USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,179.80) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Katsukawa Shunko - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 10,157.50 (€ 9,318.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Katsukawa Shunko erzielte im September 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wurde die Arbeit Sawamura Sojuro III Ichikawa Danjuro V as Kazusa no Akushichibyoe Kagekiyo für USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.179,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunko mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 10.157,50 (€ 9.318,81) versteigert wurde.
