Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Group Of Three Actor Prints by Katsukawa Shunko was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art Online auction at Christies in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,575.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Katsukawa Shunko - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 10,157.50 (€ 9,318.81).
