Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work A Standing Sumo Wrestler by Katsukawa Shunko for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,829.85). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Japanese Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Katsukawa Shunko - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 10,157.50 (€ 9,318.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Standing Sumo Wrestler von Katsukawa Shunko für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.829,85) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine Japanese Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunko mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 10.157,50 (€ 9.318,81) versteigert wurde.
