Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Standing Sumo Wrestler by Katsukawa Shunko was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,201.71) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Katsukawa Shunko have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unknown in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 10,157.50 (€ 9,318.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Standing Sumo Wrestler von Katsukawa Shunko kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.201,71) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunko auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Unknown im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.157,50 (€ 9.318,81).
