Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of An Actor by Katsukawa Shunko was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,170.91) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Katsukawa Shunko have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unknown in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 10,157.50 (€ 9,318.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of An Actor von Katsukawa Shunko wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.170,91) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunko auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Unknown im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.157,50 (€ 9.318,81).
