Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four images of plants by Karl Blossfeldt was sold in the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online auction at Christies in New York in April this year. The price achieved of USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,711.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,600.00 – 2,400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karl Blossfeldt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Equisetum hyemale. Winterschachtelhalm 12-fache Vergrösserung in April 2000 with an auction result of USD 82,250.00 (€ 90,494.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Four images of plants von Karl Blossfeldt wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.711,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.600,00 – 2.400,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karl Blossfeldt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Equisetum hyemale.
