The price achieved of EUR 27,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 22,000.00 – 32,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Blossfeldt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Equisetum hyemale. Winterschachtelhalm 12-fache Vergrösserung, which sold at auction in April 2000 for USD 82,250.00 (€ 90,494.00).

Die Arbeit Cotula Coronopifolia, Laugenblume. von Karl Blossfeldt wurde im Juni 2015 in der Auktion Auktionen 237-246 - Moderne und Zeitgenössische Photographie bei Grisebach versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 27.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 22.000,00 – 32.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Blossfeldt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Equisetum hyemale.
