Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kadhim Haider achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November last year. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale auction, the work A Love Deeper than All Love (Wa hawa aemaq min kuli hawa) , from the Epic of the Martyr Series sold for GBP 277,500.00 (€ 321,559.14) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kadhim Haider - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Al Qamar, which sold at auction in May this year for GBP 635,400.00 (€ 739,292.13).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Kadhim Haider erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale wurde die Arbeit A Love Deeper than All Love (Wa hawa aemaq min kuli hawa) , from the Epic of the Martyr Series für GBP 277.500,00 (€ 321.559,14) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kadhim Haider mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Al Qamar beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für GBP 635.400,00 (€ 739.292,13) versteigert wurde.
