The work Soul of the Martyr II by Kadhim Haider was worth GBP 5,100.00 (€ 6,097.37) to a buyer in February last year. This price was achieved in the auction Sketches from Baghdad at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kadhim Haider achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Al Qamar in May this year with an auction result of GBP 635,400.00 (€ 739,292.13).

Die Arbeit Soul of the Martyr II von Kadhim Haider war einem Käufer im Februar letzten Jahres GBP 5.100,00 (€ 6.097,37) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Sketches from Baghdad bei Bonhams in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kadhim Haider erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Al Qamar im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 635.400,00 (€ 739.292,13).
