This artwork by Kadhim Haider achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in May this year. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction, the work Untitled (The Epic of the Martyr series) sold for GBP 35,840.00 (€ 41,700.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kadhim Haider achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Al Qamar in May this year with an auction result of GBP 635,400.00 (€ 739,292.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kadhim Haider erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (The Epic of the Martyr series) für GBP 35.840,00 (€ 41.700,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kadhim Haider erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Al Qamar im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 635.400,00 (€ 739.292,13).
