Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kadhim Haider achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in March 2017. In the Dubai: Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Do'a'a li al qamar raqam 17 (Prayer to the Moon no. 17) sold for USD 112,500.00 (€ 105,159.84) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kadhim Haider have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Al Qamar in May this year with an auction result of GBP 635,400.00 (€ 739,292.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kadhim Haider erzielte im März 2017 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dubai: Modern and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Do'a'a li al qamar raqam 17 (Prayer to the Moon no. 17) für USD 112.500,00 (€ 105.159,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kadhim Haider auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Al Qamar im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 635.400,00 (€ 739.292,13).
