Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Justin Ponmany achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Washing Every-Day sold for HKD 1,027,500.00 (€ 84,590.46) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 380,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Justin Ponmany; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) sold at auction in June 2008 with the realized price of GBP 109,250.00 (€ 138,095.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Justin Ponmany erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Washing Every-Day für HKD 1.027.500,00 (€ 84.590,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 380.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Justin Ponmany; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) im Juni 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 109.250,00 (€ 138.095,66).
