This artwork by Justin Ponmany achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2007. In the The Indian Sale auction, the work Clenched Fist 1 sold for GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,488.22) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Justin Ponmany have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 109,250.00 (€ 138,095.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Justin Ponmany erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Indian Sale wurde die Arbeit Clenched Fist 1 für GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.488,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Justin Ponmany auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 109.250,00 (€ 138.095,66).
