Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 2 Become 1 by Julia Dault was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 13,860.00 (€ 1,665.50). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julia Dault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled 17, 11:00 Am - 4:00 Pm, January 20, 2011 in June 2015 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,172.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 2 Become 1 von Julia Dault im Februar diesen Jahres bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 13.860,00 (€ 1.665,50) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julia Dault erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled 17, 11:00 Am - 4:00 Pm, January 20, 2011 im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.172,14).
