Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Christies in Paris held the auction Art Contemporain Vente du Jour, which included the work Incendiarios VII by Juan Genovés. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 3,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 37,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Juan Genovés - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Columna I, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 151,200.00 (€ 146,469.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2016 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Art Contemporain Vente du Jour durch, in der auch die Arbeit Incendiarios VII von Juan Genovés zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 3.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 37.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Juan Genovés mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Columna I beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 151.200,00 (€ 146.469,05) versteigert wurde.
