Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Blue Door (Facing Inside) by Josephine Halvorson was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,883.65). Other works by Josephine Halvorson have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2019 by the work Slats at USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,344.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Blue Door (Facing Inside) von Josephine Halvorson im September 2021 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.883,65) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Josephine Halvorson wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2019 die Arbeit Slats mit USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.344,04).
