In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints, which included the work Ask the Dust by Joseph Stashkevetch. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,236.85), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Joseph Stashkevetch; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Clouds #7 (Muni Station) sold at auction in February 2007 with the realized price of USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,605.44).
