Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Too Many Green Apples by Joseph Christian Leyendecker. Here, the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 137,500.00 (€ 121,434.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Christian Leyendecker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Carousel Ride, which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 516,100.00 (€ 421,995.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Too Many Green Apples von Joseph Christian Leyendecker zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 137.500,00 (€ 121.434,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Christian Leyendecker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Carousel Ride beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für USD 516.100,00 (€ 421.995,09) versteigert wurde.
