Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,019.59) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Christian Leyendecker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carousel Ride in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 516,100.00 (€ 421,995.09).

Die Arbeit Study For 'The Saturday Evening Post' Cover von Joseph Christian Leyendecker kam im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.019,59) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Christian Leyendecker erzielen.
