Die Arbeit Thanksgiving (Peeling Apples) von Joseph Christian Leyendecker kam im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 100.195,94) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 61%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Christian Leyendecker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Carousel Ride im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 516.100,00 (€ 421.995,09).
