Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Joseph Christian Leyendecker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. In the American Art Online auction, the work Study For 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,734.52) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Christian Leyendecker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carousel Ride in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 516,100.00 (€ 421,995.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Christian Leyendecker erzielte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Christian Leyendecker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carousel Ride im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 516.100,00 (€ 421.995,09).
