Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Politician (Campaign Orator) by Joseph Christian Leyendecker. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,000.00 (€ 63,035.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Christian Leyendecker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Carousel Ride in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 516,100.00 (€ 421,995.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Politician (Campaign Orator) von Joseph Christian Leyendecker zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 63.035,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Christian Leyendecker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Carousel Ride im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 516.100,00 (€ 421.995,09).
