Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work The Myth Seekers by José Parlá. The price achieved of USD 100,800.00 (€ 97,646.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Parlá - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Writers' Bench: Grand Concourse & 149th Street, The Bronx, which sold at auction in June last year for HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 214,665.78).
