Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Will The Future Continue To Speed Up? by José Parlá. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 508,000.00 (€ 61,433.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Parlá - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Writers' Bench: Grand Concourse & 149th Street, The Bronx, which sold at auction in June last year for HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 214,665.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Will The Future Continue To Speed Up? von José Parlá zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 508.000,00 (€ 61.433,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von José Parlá mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Writers' Bench: Grand Concourse & 149th Street, The Bronx beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für HKD 1.764.000,00 (€ 214.665,78) versteigert wurde.
