Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work The Founders by José Parlá. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 512.00 (€ 512.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Parlá achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Writers' Bench: Grand Concourse & 149th Street, The Bronx in June last year with an auction result of HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 214,665.78).
