Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Acordadas Y Zapatistas by José Clemente Orozco was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 524,000.00 (€ 466,565.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by José Clemente Orozco have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2010 the work The City was auctioned for USD 1,142,500.00 (€ 923,680.17).
