It achieved a price of USD 1,785.00 (€ 1,592.04), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Clemente Orozco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The City in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,142,500.00 (€ 923,680.17).

Die Arbeit The Hanged Men, from The American Scene von José Clemente Orozco wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.785,00 (€ 1.592,04) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Clemente Orozco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The City im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.142.500,00 (€ 923.680,17).
