This artwork by José Clemente Orozco achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January last year. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Manifestación sold for USD 3,570.00 (€ 3,184.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Clemente Orozco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The City in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,142,500.00 (€ 923,680.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von José Clemente Orozco erzielte im Januar letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wurde die Arbeit Manifestación für USD 3.570,00 (€ 3.184,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Clemente Orozco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The City im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.142.500,00 (€ 923.680,17).
