This artwork by Henri-Jozef Pauwels achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2007. In the Impressionist and Modern Art auction, the work The Toast sold for USD 2,880.00 (€ 2,176.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Henri-Jozef Pauwels have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scène d'intérieur au jardin in March last year with an auction result of USD 16,562.50 (€ 14,930.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Henri-Jozef Pauwels erzielte im Februar 2007 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art wurde die Arbeit The Toast für USD 2.880,00 (€ 2.176,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henri-Jozef Pauwels auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scène d'intérieur au jardin im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.562,50 (€ 14.930,59).
