Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Jorge Pardo was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,502.17). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jorge Pardo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 56,105.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jorge Pardo im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.764,00 (€ 1.502,17) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jorge Pardo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 56.105,35).
