Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of John Milton (1608-1674), Bust-Length by Jonathan Richardson for GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,958.81). This price was achieved in the auction British Art on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jonathan Richardson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group Portrait of The Artist And His Son, Jonathan, With John Milton, Three-Quarter-Length, On A Balcony in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 26,400.00 (€ 39,126.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of John Milton (1608-1674), Bust-Length von Jonathan Richardson für GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.958,81) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British Art on Paper bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jonathan Richardson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Group Portrait of The Artist And His Son, Jonathan, With John Milton, Three-Quarter-Length, On A Balcony im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.400,00 (€ 39.126,47).
