This artwork by Jonathan Lyndon Chase achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in December 2020. In the 20th c. and Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session auction, the work Bend sold for USD 105,840.00 (€ 86,541.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 45,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jonathan Lyndon Chase; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot rose petals on bed sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of USD 131,250.00 (€ 119,112.44).
