Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Man Lying in Garden Bed by Jonathan Lyndon Chase was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 47,880.00 (€ 44,618.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jonathan Lyndon Chase - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work rose petals on bed, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 131,250.00 (€ 119,112.44).
