Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Man With a Briefcase at No. 3274*** by Jonathan Borofsky was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,544.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jonathan Borofsky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man with Briefcase A; B; C; at No. 3274714; and at No. 5876246 (G. 1482-4; 1461) in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 45,245.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Man With a Briefcase at No. 3274*** von Jonathan Borofsky kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.544,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jonathan Borofsky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man with Briefcase A; B; C; at No. 3274714; and at No. 5876246 (G. 1482-4; 1461) im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 45.245,46).
