Auction result misses estimated price range

In July 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work A wooded river landscape with a farmer and his ox-drawn cart on a path by John Wootton for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,911.62). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wootton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Hunting Party; Possibly Depicting Charles Spencer, 3Rd Duke Of Marlborough (1706-1758) And His Wife Elizabeth, Countess Of Marlborough (D.1761) in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 577,250.00 (€ 735,261.35).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im Juli 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A wooded river landscape with a farmer and his ox-drawn cart on a path von John Wootton für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.911,62) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00.
