Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'The Bloody Shoulder'd Arabian' by John Wootton was sold in the Three Private Collections: Belgravia, Berkshire and Guernsey auction at Christies in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 58,640.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wootton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Hunting Party; Possibly Depicting Charles Spencer, 3Rd Duke Of Marlborough (1706-1758) And His Wife Elizabeth, Countess Of Marlborough (D.1761) in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 577,250.00 (€ 735,261.35).

Die Arbeit 'The Bloody Shoulder'd Arabian' von John Wootton wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Three Private Collections: Belgravia, Berkshire and Guernsey bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 58.640,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
